Abstract Art
Abstraction for me still has some part in realism. I tend to explore a topic that will evoke an emotion with a play with lines, mark making, colour splashes, but still seen through a contemporary realism lens.
‘Bitcoin Fever’ (2019), mixed media sculpture.
15x15x15cm sculpture. This mixed media sculpture diorama is a nod to the new ‘gold rush’ that is happening in the world with the new, and arguably the way of the future, virtual (blockchain) currency Bitcoin.
‘Ice Melt’ (2020) resin sculptural painting.
Resin, ink, paper. 30 x 23 x 7cm. This semi-transparent piece is part of a series on Global Warming, it attempts to act as a commentary on humanity’s part in the speeding up of this phenomenon and aims to illustrate the cause and effect. The human face is central to each piece in the series as humans are central to the problem, both in its cause and potentially, its solution. 'Ice Melt' artwork video.
